"Cabin Contemporary is excited to host 1/999, a Frederick Wright Jones installation. Wright Jones is a pilot in a flying dream, a guide to the realm of 'time-place'. His topographical sculptures present a view from a mechanical and a temporal plane, shortening potentially insurmountable distances both personal and communal. The principal installation in 1/999 offers a meta-ticket to fly over the rolling Appalachian landscape on which Cabin Contemporary is situated. The additional works provide a place in mind for patient contemplation of memory prior to take-off. Frederick Wright Jones' 1/999 coasts just above the original experience and entices a response to an unavoidable question, 'Will you step into the air'?"
